How to get into IISc after B.Sc ?

IISc does not offers any master degree course. So after completing BSc a student can get admission into IISc Integrated PhD program through JEST and JAM entrance exam.

IISc offers various integrated PhD courses in Biological Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Physical Sciences and Mathematical Sciences for BSc graduates.

1. Physical Sciences in IISc: Basic qualification for integrated PhD Physical Sciences in IISc is first class in BSc or any equivalent degree with physics as one of the main subject. 

2. Biological Sciences in IISc: Basic qualification for integrated PhD Biological Sciences in IISc is first class in Bachelor's or any equivalent degree in Physical, Chemical or Biological Science, B.Tech in Biotechnology including some other courses like Veterinary Science and Agricultural Science. 

3. Chemical Science in IISc: Basic qualification for integrated PhD Chemical Sciences in IISc is first class in BSc or an equivalent degree with Chemistry as one of the main subject with Mathematics in class 12th science stream. 

4. Mathematical Sciences: Basic qualification for integrated PhD Mathematical Sciences in IISc is first class in BSc or any equivalent degree with Maths as one of the major subject. 

Eligibility:

To apply for integrated PhD program in IISc, a student should qualify JAM entrance exam and submit the online application for IISc by February/March after completing BSc. 

1. Mathematical Sciences: 

Students with basic qualification for mathematical sciences and JAM score or students with BE/BTech degree who qualify for Mathematics/Mathematical Statistics paper in JAM are eligible to apply for the integrated PhD Mathematical Sciences. 

2. Biological Sciences: 

Students with basic qualification for biological sciences and JAM score or Students with BE/B.Tech degree who qualify in the biotechnology paper in JAMS are eligible to apply for integrated PhD Biological Sciences. 

3.Chemical Sciences: 

Students with basic qualification for chemical sciences and JAM score are eligible to apply for integrated PhD Chemical Sciences.

4. Physical Sciences: 

Students with basic qualification for physical sciences and JAM score or JEST are eligible to apply for integrated PhD Physical Sciences.
